More independent garages in the automotive aftermarket are turning to online providers for their parts supply, according to online motor factor PartsInMotion.co.uk.
The company, which has grown year on year since its launch in 2015, has seen an increase in trading with independent garages, looking to add an online parts provider to their list of suppliers.
PartsInMotion.co.uk is one of the UK’s largest suppliers of vehicle parts online to independent garages, supplying OE-quality brands and supporting technicians with fitment and product enquiries.
The company’s experience in the automotive industry means that by offering the widest choice of product ranges and brands online, it is best placed to meet the evolving requirements of the trade.
In a garage survey published in June 2020*, more than 30 percent of garages said they were sourcing parts online as coronavirus restrictions and limited parts availability began to have an effect. This figure has continued to rise, says Matt Gates, director of PartsInMotion.co.uk, who believes garages are looking for more choice from their parts suppliers.
“Within the past year, we have seen a rise in the number of garages transacting and communicating online and it’s something they’ve become very comfortable with,” he said. “The same day supply market is not where our focus is and we’ve been successful in working with garages to ensure an efficient next day supply of the correct parts, from OE-quality brands.”
Gates added: “Alongside a responsible pricing structure that delivers superb value to both suppliers and customers, our main point of difference is that we can offer customers access to the largest range of products and ensure a consistently high level of availability. Online is the direction of travel in many aspects of our daily lives and it’s important garages have access to this resource.”
